PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year at East Bay Arts High School, a small college preparatory, arts-integrated high school. I am so excited to welcome new members (students, staff and families) to the EBA Family, learning with and from them!  We want everyone to feel connected and responsible for the success of all students.  There will be myriad opportunities to get involved in various committees and group activities so that we can collectively and individually contribute to the EBA experience.

For the 25-26 school year, our instructional vision is grounded in the belief that the collective expertise of educators—working in purposeful, collaborative teams—is a powerful driver of student learning and growth. As a Professional Learning Community, we will engage in continuous reflection, inquiry, and collaboration to improve student outcomes and ensure that all students learn at high levels.

Since its inception in 2005 and continuing to today, EBA has been a safe and inclusive school where all students will embody the artist's Studio Habits of Mind and graduate striving towards liberatory justice, prepared to individually and collectively engage in the productive struggle necessary for lifelong learning and success. We want every student to feel seen, heard, loved and supported.  Our students can access college preparatory classes, master the state standards, complete the UC/CSU a-g requirements and grow as artists. Our cross-curricular grade level projects are based in real world problems and incorporate the arts to encourage student engagement and agency.  It is our hope that, through an arts-integrated and anti-racist approach, our students will critically engage with one another, the curriculum, and society to become leaders and advocates for social justice.

We are co-located on the San Lorenzo High School campus for the 2025-2026 school year and remain hopeful that a decision from the School Board regarding EBA’s future and the expansion of arts opportunities for students in San Lorenzo Unified School District will be made soon. Please feel free to contact us at (510) 317-4410 for additional information and to schedule a tour of East Bay Arts. I look forward to speaking with prospective students and their families. We are a school where individuality and creativity are honored, where we believe in the brilliance of all students and where students can prepare for college while advancing their talents as visual and/or performing artists.

In service,
